She Served on the Court with Antonin and Anthony: A Tricky Crossword Clue

This week’s crossword puzzle threw me for a loop with a particularly challenging clue: “She served on the court with Antonin and Anthony.”

Now, I’m no stranger to tricky crossword clues, but this one had me stumped for a good while. I instantly thought of the Supreme Court, picturing Antonin Scalia and Anthony Kennedy seated alongside… Well, who?

My mind raced through a list of female Supreme Court Justices, but none seemed to fit the time frame I was imagining. Was this a trick clue, referring to a different kind of “court”? A tennis court perhaps? Or maybe a royal court?

The frustration was real, but I knew I couldn’t give up. I pulled out my trusty crossword dictionary, scoured online resources, and even consulted my trusty crossword solving partner (my cat, who usually just naps on the puzzle).

After a good deal of head-scratching and some internet sleuthing, I finally cracked the code. The answer is surprisingly straightforward once you understand the context.
