A Striker May Have a Hand in This (6,5): A Clue That’s Got Us Thinking

This week’s crossword puzzle threw a real curveball at me with this clue:

“A striker may have a hand in this (6,5).”

I’ve been staring at it for a good ten minutes now, and my brain feels like it’s slowly turning to mush.
