“___ it or Lose It!” – A Crossword Conundrum

This week’s crossword puzzle threw a real curveball at me! I was cruising through the grid, feeling confident, until I hit a particularly tricky clue: “___ it or Lose It!”

Now, I know what you’re thinking. This sounds like a motivational poster slogan, not a crossword clue. And you’re right, it’s definitely a bit unusual. But it’s exactly these sorts of quirky, unexpected clues that make crosswords so much fun.

The problem is, this one has me stumped. I’ve tried every synonym for “lose” I can think of, I’ve even consulted the thesaurus! But nothing seems to fit. The answer must be a common phrase, something everyone would recognize, but for the life of me, I can’t figure it out.
